I’m a freelance writer and up-and-coming author, as well as a communications and marketing professional, an accessibility and disability advocate, career advisor and educator.
I use storytelling to normalize what it’s like to live with a disability, often by writing about my lived experiences as someone with a stutter and who is neurodivergent. Read more about me and my work on my About Me page.
Accessibility Work
As someone with a disability, I have carved out a professional niche in the intersection of disability and employment, having worked in accessibility consulting and academic accommodations, and written about my lived experiences of disability and issues of accessibility in the workplace for various media outlets. You can read more on my Accessibility Work page.
Workshops
I developed and led various workshops for people who stutter at the Canadian Stuttering Association’s annual conference. This includes workshops related to disability disclosure during job interviews, advocacy, as well as an improv session.
Improv
In addition to writing, I’ve ventured out of my comfort zone and into improv, first by taking classes at Second City, then by forming my own improv troupe, Coffee Breath. We’ve performed on multiple stages, including Comedy Bar and Bad Dog Theatre.
Stand-Up
My love for performing and public speaking has also prompted me to get into stand-up comedy. I’ve performed in shows at Free Times Cafe and in Black Sheep Comedy’s competition at 120 Diner (pictured below). I won first place in the latter.
